File This Under: It's About Time!

It's been a while- so long that I can't remember- since I thrifted a designer bag at Goodwill Outlet. This is due to a couple things. #1: GO has gotten extremely popular and busy; #2: Ladies will fight over the best bags.

And boy, do I mean fight! There's this one lady in particular who will bump her way to the front of the crowd as they put out new purses and shoes, and run over anyone in her way. You do not get in between this lady and that fake LV bag or those New Balance shoes, because you will get pushed aside!

It's quite comical to watch from the outside, but let's just say that I haven't been the triumphant one at Goodwill Outlet in a long while :) That is, until Saturday!

Dooney & Bourke Wristlet, Goodwill Outlet ($2)
For some reason, I ended up looking through the one cart that had a real designer item in the bottom! I picked it up and tossed it in my basket, and then I promptly got as far away from the purses and shoes as I could!

This little bag is the perfect size for holding my necklaces and hair clips when I travel, which is perfect since we're leaving on Thursday for Florida :) And I managed to get out of GO in one piece with it! I'd call that success :)

Ah, Columbus!

Don't you just love fun holidays where you get the day off but don't have any celebratory obligations? Well, I do! Yesterday was definitely one of those great days, too :) I dragged the hubby back to my fave thrift stores (that I usually go to on Saturdays) and found some really great things :)

Here's what I wore:
Moto-like Jacket, Love of Jesus ($3); Cato Top, Goodwill ($2); Old Navy Jeans, Goodwill ($4); Woven Flats, Love of Jesus ($3); Vera Bradley Purse, Goodwill Outlet ($2!)

I was excited to wear some of my recent finds for the first time- especially the super-comfy jacket and my authentic Vera Bradley purse that I got at the Goodwill Outlet for $2! The funniest thing about it was that the lady that rang up my stuff there was all, "Ma'am, now you know this bag is going to be $2...do you still want it?"

Um, yeah. :)
Anyway. I found some cool things yesterday that I'm dying to show off:

Some great pins to add to my growing collection: All from Family Thrift (between $1 and $2-the flower, the butterfly, and the opal and gold pin) or Good Samaritan ($0.50 each- the rooster, the pear, and the double rings.)

And some more:

From top left, clockwise: Silk Scarf, FanTastic Thrift ($1); Gucci Sunglasses Case, Family Thrift ($0.45); Super-Cool Sunglasses Case, FanTastic Thrift ($0.75); Tripod!, FanTastic Thrift ($1.75)

I'd say that I had a pretty successful day :) I did get another pair of sunglasses too, but I'm going to post about that (and my other new obsessions) tomorrow!

Amanda

Insert Kanye West Reference Here

I was at the Goodwill by my apartment the other night, looking around, minding my own business, when I saw this...

...and I thought, wow, what a pretty silk robe. It is so nice, and so perfect in every way. I want to wear it around like a young, female, not-as-creepy Hugh Hefner :)

Right in the middle of this admittedly whacko thought, I saw the tag...

...and it's Christian Dior! And you know what I think of when I think Christian Dior? Well, Kanye West, unfortunately. (Not a big fan of his attitude.)

I guess Goodwill employees, as well as my hubby, don't know this is a designer brand. It is so well-made and soft and just perfect.

And for $7, now it is mine. :)

Have a great rest of your weekend! (Oh, and leave a comment! What great deals have you gotten lately?)

Always,
Amanda
