The Beautiful Handmade Quilt of my Dreams

Vintage Handmade Quilt, Heritage Antiques ($25)
It's been awhile, but I've talked before about my obsession with vintage handmade quilts. When I found this one for a mere twenty-five bucks at my local antique store, I couldn't believe it!! I love the totally graphic red and white design, and it's big enough to use on our queen size bed!

It was extra-weird that I found this on Saturday, when I was wearing red and white. I must have looked quite the picture wearing my outfit and hugging my matching quilt to myself for dear life. I kept checking the price tag to make certain it didn't really say $125...

I hope you had a great weekend!

Amanda

My Thrifting Outfit: Vintage Red

I totally scored the other night at Goodwill and the clearance racks of Target and Burlington! This outfit is the product of finding some great wardrobe pieces for even better prices:

White Button-up, Target Clearance; Vintage Floral Shirt, Goodwill; Vintage Cardigan, Goodwill; Jeans, Burlington; Green Tassel Flats, Goodwill; Bag, TJMaxx Clearance
Four of these things I've been searching for forever...the perfect white button-up, great-fitting dark blue skinny jeans, a black Mulberry-esque bag, and tasseled flats!

I grabbed the vintage floral shirt on a whim, but I really ended up liking it! It goes so well with my red cardigan :) (Which I know isn't a huge step away from my favorite blue one, but I love vintage grandpa cardigans!!!)

I hope you all are having a great weekend!

Always,
Amanda

Fishin' for Presents

Fly Fishing Glass Cup, Goodwill Outlet
I like how Sarah of Five Camels ordered business cards to the effect of "thrifted and thoroughly washed by Sarah."

I personally find most of my gifts for people at thrift shops, too, so I see how such a card would be helpful for gift recipients! The above glass cup is for my father-in-law (who I don't think reads this, so it should be okay!), because he's a fan of fly fishing.

Some people are harder than others to shop for, so when I find something for them while thrifting, I grab it! Does anyone else shop for gifts at the thrifts?

Amanda

Blythe's Thrifted Outfit

Doll Hat; Vintage Dress; Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
I totally went the easy route with Blythe's outfit this week...hence the outfit from yesterday's finds post! This week has been just zooming by- I hardly feel like it should be March already. (Not that I'm complaining- my vacation week/ birthday is in May, so I'm counting down the days. :))

The video games that serve as the background to this photo are definitely the hubby's. I wish I could say I was good at any of them, but I'm really, really not!

I hope everyone has a great Friday. :) I know I'm ready for the weekend!

Amanda

Honey, I Shrunk the Clothes!

Vintage Doll Clothes, Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
Have you seen Honey, I Shrunk the Kids? The hubby and I watched it the other night for the first time in years, and it's a pretty cool movie.

I sometimes find myself wishing I could shrink down to doll-size to fit in all the vintage doll clothes I find at Goodwill Outlet. (Is that weird, or are you with me? :)) For instance, this adorable hat that fits Blythe's head perfectly and this frilly vintage doll dress would be so much fun! These little clothes remind me of my dress-up box I had when I was little :)

I hope you're having a great week!

Amanda

Pulling Vintage out of a Hat

Vintage Leather Wallet, Goodwill Outlet ($0.50)
I swear I talk about this every day, but it really is amazing what can be found in the Goodwill Outlet bins! In regards to vintage, especially.

I've found all sorts of old things...my favorites being a 1950s Viewmaster, 60s and 70s doll clothes for Blythe, and even 60s Barbie party napkins still in the plastic wrap! The new goes quickly at Goodwill Outlet, but the old still has a fighting chance of coming home with a non-elbow-throwing gal like me.

This vintage patent leather wallet is one of those finds I couldn't believe. It's in perfect condition, with the original card inside with the maker's info and a space for your vital numbers. Such a neat thing to grab out of a random bin filled with broken old cell phones, doll heads, and the like.

Ahhh, Goodwill Outlet. Always an adventure.

Always,
Amanda

My Thrifting Outfit: Wavy Hair and Tennis Shoes

Sunday went by way too fast this week! The hubby and I woke up late, got some donuts for breakfast, and then hit up an estate sale. I finally found a candle snuffer for a decent price- 50 cents!

Jacket and Shoes; F21; Shirt, Goodwill; Necklace, Goodwill Outlet; Bag, Target; Hair Pin, Vintage
This was a comfy and laid-back outfit for a lazy Sunday- the best kind!

Sorry that there's no Thrifty Blogger of the Month post today... I ran out of time in this short month! No worries- there will be a new one in a couple of days :)

Always,
Amanda
