Already Loved; A Goodbye...and Hello

As much as I've loved blogging over at Another's Treasure for the past couple years, I feel like I've grown out of it. With springtime here, and new starts in every pollen-filled breeze, a fresh new blog seems fitting. So I'd like to welcome you to Already Loved, a blog to be filled with new-to-me outfits, finds, vintage, etsy favorites, and Blythe appearances. The common thread, of course, is that most everything posted about has been previously enjoyed and passed on to live its second(hand) life. Thank you for your support the past couple years, and here's to new beginnings!

Always,
Amanda

Estate Sale Treasure

Vintage Radio, Estate Sale ($2)
The only thing I got from last Sunday's estate sale was this awesome, still in the box, radio! This photo doesn't even show the best part- the back, which is this great 70s green! It's always neat to find stuff like this brand new from 40-plus years ago. You wonder if the former owner got it as a gift and it wasn't their style, or if they bought it for someone and forgot about it. At least, I wonder these things. The best part of estate sales is taking a look at the past...

Have a great Saturday, everyone!!!

Blythe's Thrifted Outfit: Springy Dots

Vintage Doll Clothes and Barbie Purse, Goodwill Outlet
I love these dotted pink shorts on Blythe! And they go so well with the dotted orange blouse. :) Sort of matchy-clashy. This is the first of many cute new outfits you'll see from the Goodwill Outlet bins last Saturday!

Happy Friday!!!!

Amanda

A Little JCrew

JCrew Suede Flats, Goodwill Outlet ($2.50)
You all know by now how much I love JCrew, and how much I love their flats! Well, I found the perfect ones at Goodwill Outlet on Saturday! Perfect except they are about a size too big for me. Ah, well. You can't win them all. I plan on bringing them on our family vacation next month to pass on to my mom. :)

I don't think I've mentioned it yet, but me, my hubby, my parents, and possibly my brother are going to San Francisco and Lake Tahoe for a week in May! I am sooooo excited!!! I hear the thrifting/vintage stores are awesome in San Fran, and I can't wait to see all the sights and hang out with some of my favorite people in the world- my family.

Temps are rising...

Vintage Thermometer, Goodwill Outlet ($1)
I grabbed this cool (sort-of) working thermometer right out of the Goodwill Outlet bin on Saturday! It's pretty neat how it works, but I admittedly got it for its looks. :) I have it on our kitchen counter, and unfortunately the 80 degree ball has been up at the top by itself for the past couple days. It looks like spring might already be over for us- summer here we come!

My Thrifting Outfit: Leopard and Blues

Shirt, Flats, Necklace, Sweater, Bangles: Thrifted; Jeans, Burlington; Bag, Fieldguided
Sunday was a pretty packed day for the hubby and I. We went to Panera, Best Buy, Borders, Forever 21, an awesome estate sale, the movies to see 'Arthur', and finally the grocery store. Whew! But it was a good day, and we definitely got some neat things at the estate sale. The hubby even bought a lighter that looked like an old pistol!

The weather was a little overcast, but perfect otherwise. Definitely great short-sleeved sweater weather. :) Awww, Sundays. I can't wait for another one!

Spring has Sprung

Watering Can Vinyl Purse, Heritage Antiques
I couldn't resist sharing this with you all, even though I've already given it to my gardening-loving mother-in-law. :) Isn't it just the perfect spring bag? When I bought it, the owner warned me (jokingly, of course) to not actually use it to water plants!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was too short! I do have half-days today and tomorrow though, so maybe I'll head out to the thrifts again. :)

My Thrifting Outfit: Olive You

Olive Cardigan, Plane Necklace: Thrifted; Striped Shirt, Target Clearance; Jeans, Burlington; Shoes, Plato's Closet; Feather Necklace, F21; Fieldguided Tote, etsy
I love this newly thrifted sweater. It's like a big, comfy hug- and the perfect weight for our crazy changing weather here in Richmond. This is also my first time taking out my Fieldguided tote, (instead of just enjoying looking at it hanging on the wall!) and I love it! It's the perfect size, and the straps are long enough to be comfy on my shoulder. :)

I hit the doll clothes jackpot at Goodwill Outlet yesterday too! I can't wait to show you all the adorably spring-like outfits on Blythe. :) Have a great rest of your weekend!!!

A Little Fishy

Vintage Fish Ribbon, Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
Goodwill Outlet this past Saturday was a gold mine of cool little vintage things! I especially loved this sturdy vintage ribbon with fish on it. :) (Yes, I know they are upside-down in the photo!)

I think I might try to make a belt with this eventually, but right now I have it wrapped around my computer chair to spice it up a little.

I hope your weekend is great! Mine starts this afternoon- so here's to hoping the morning goes by quick and easy!

Blythe's Thrifted Outfit: Dotted and Flared

Barbie Jeans, Dotted Doll Shirt, Purse: Goodwill Outlet
I love the fit of this polka-dotted doll shirt on Blythe. I think it was made for larger dolls, but the oversize fit reminds me of the shirts you find so often at Forever 21. As for the Barbie jeans, they fit perfectly except the long length. But who wants to hem awesome bell bottoms to make them ordinary? Not me!

I hope you are having a lovely Friday. After today and tomorrow morning, it'll be the weekend for me! I'm definitely looking forward to it. :)

The Tale of the Headless Sailor

Headless/ Toe-less Lladro Sailor, Goodwill Outlet ($1)
When I saw this poor, broken guy in the Goodwill Outlet bin on Saturday, I knew just what he was. You see, my Grammy collects Lladros, and for about a buck, I had to have this headless fellow!

The funny thing about this is that I think I like him better without a head. Here's a photo of an intact one. (It is kind of cool that the original has a pipe. The hubby would like that.) But I like him better as I've put him to use: with a fabric flower where the head should go! I'll take a photo sometime. :)

My Thrifted Outfit: New Finds and Sunshine

Ray Bans, TJMaxx; Jeans, Burlington; Feather Necklace, F21; Shoes, Plato's Closet; Shirt, Cardigan, Bag, Ship Necklace, Thrifted
This new bag I got at Goodwill Outlet on Saturday has the perfect hippie-on-the-move vibe. Its a great size and shape for weekend adventures, for sure. Another newly thrifted item I wore Sunday (when this photo was taken) was my purple cardigan. You can't tell too well from the picture, but the edges are scalloped! It has such a sweet look and feel, and I had been looking to add some purple to my closet. Well, that's about all I have for now. I haven't been having the best week ever, so here's to hoping the rest goes by fast!

Patchwork= Awesome

Patchwork Pillow, Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
I am so in love with everything patchwork and/or quilted! There's something so homey about it that always draws me in. In the case of this awesome vintage pillow, I spotted it from across Goodwill Outlet...and speed-walked right to it! After some thorough washing, it's my new 'reading pillow'- the perfect size and shape for propping up my head to read book after book. :)

Speaking of books, what are you guys reading? I'm usually in the middle of quite a few at a time. Right now, I'm reading: On The Road by Jack Kerouac; Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert; and Bringing Home the Birkin by Michael Tonello. I have a bunch of books lined up to read as well! Such a book nerd. :)

What a Dollar Will Get You...

Vintage Unopened Tennis Balls; Vintage Wall Decor; Vintage Love Mug; All: Church Yard Sale ($1)
...At a church yard sale :) I saw this little sale at a local church on my way to the thrifts, and I had to stop! I'm glad I did, 'cause I picked up all these vintage goodies for a dollar!!!

My favorite thing here has got to be the 'Love' cup. :) So cute! I almost couldn't believe it when the lady at the booth said, "How about a dollar for all of it?" I just agreed and handed the dollar over with a huge smile on my face. :)

I also got the prettiest shades of OPI nail polish for a buck each, including the absolute perfect shade of peach. I'll definitely be showing it off soon. :)

My Thrifting Outfit: Leopard and Sailor Stripes

Ray Ban Wayfarers, TJMaxx; Striped Shirt, Target Clearance; Jeans, Burlington; Jacket, F21; Necklace, Flats, Vest, and Bag:  Thrifted
Oh my gosh, you guys! I am so excited about my newest pair of sunglasses- a special edition Ray Ban Wayfarer pair that I found at TJMaxx for less than fifty bucks! I've been wanting a pair of the classic Wayfarer shape- they seem to stay better on my little nose- and these are especially cool. :)

Also new in this outfit: the striped shirt I've been eying at Target for months that finally ended up on the clearance rack, and the F21 jacket I was telling you about yesterday. I have to say, paired with my awesome vintage satchel and leopard print flats, I was loving this outfit!

I also scored some really great vintage goodies whilst out thrifting/antiquing/church yard sale-ing! I can't wait to show you all the goods this week. :)

Remix: F21 Jacket

When I picked up this jacket from Forever 21 back in October, I didn't realize how much wear I'd get out of it! Not only did I find myself throwing it on almost every day to go to work, but I wore it in quite a lot of outfit shots as well.

I usually do these posts as 'thrifted remixes', but since I only spent about twenty bucks on this jacket and I got at least a hundred wears out of it, I think it counts! Another reason I'm doing a post on this jacket? I think it's about worn out. I love it so much that I got one almost like it to replace it, and I'm wearing it today. :)

Wish me luck thrifting so I have more to share with you all next week. :)

Blythe's Thrifted Outfit: Tomboy/ Rock Star

Boy Doll Sweater, Cut-offs: Goodwill Outlet; Guitar, Dollar Tree
It has been pretty chilly in Richmond this past week, so I thought it was fitting to put Blythe in a thrifted boy doll sweater with last week's cut-offs. For a rock star edge, I picked up this former party favor at Dollar Tree. As a guitar player/ tomboy-at-heart myself, I could see myself throwing on a human-sized version of this outfit in an instant.

I hope you all have a great weekend! I for one can't wait to hit the thrifts. :)

Looking Back: Last Spring

I wore this outfit almost exactly a year ago! I remember I had gotten this sailor jacket and had no idea what to pair it with, and you all helped me out. It turned out pairing it with a bright color was key to modernizing it. :) I also remember that it was too hot that day to keep the jacket on!

This spring has started out pretty cold and rainy here in Richmond. I can definitely expect to be wearing a jacket of some sort on Saturday while I thrift!

The thing that really stands out here is my long hair... It will definitely be awhile before it gets that long again, but it's getting there. :) Have a happy Thursday, and I promise next week's posts will be more interesting!

What I'm Loving...

So I wasn't particularly fruitful in my thrifting/ estate sale adventures this past weekend. (Except finding the main thing I was looking for, so I'm definitely not complaining!) But that means I don't have quite as much to share this week on the 'ol blog.

I thought I'd do something a little different and show the things I've been loving lately. :)

1. My new Fieldguided tote, and the Fieldguided blog!

Fieldguided Tote, etsy; Plastic Jewel, Goodwill Outlet
2. Painting my nails all sorts of crazy ways! Here were my nails on Monday/yesterday, a mix of white Sally Hansen nail polish, Love My Nails heart nail polish, and Wet 'N Wild sparkly nail polish:

3. The map lining of my newly thrifted vintage leather satchel (as seen in yesterday's outfit post):

Vintage Satchel, Goodwill Outlet
4. Making etsy treasuries as wish lists for my birthday! I've made three wish lists so far- there are just so many pretty things! (Lists HERE, HERE, and HERE)

That's pretty much what I've been loving this past week. :) I hope yours is going well!

My Thrifting Outfit: Huge Bow + Suede Boots

Hairband, Boots, Pirate Ship Pendant, Vintage Leather Bag: Thrifted; Jeans, Burlington; Bow Sweatshirt, CrystalCurfew etsy; Feather Necklace, Sunglasses: F21
I was so excited to wear this awesome, comfy, cute sweatshirt I bought from CrystalCurfew on etsy! They have the cutest shirts, sweatshirts, and the most awesome space print bag! I bought the space bag and sweatshirt for me, and I got the hubby their Sonic the Hedgehog shirt for his birthday, and he absolutely loves it. Everyone asks where he got it!

A couple other things about this outfit:
1. My newly thrifted perfect vintage leather bag! (The inside lining is map print!)
2. I finally got to wear my green suede boots!
3. My headband matched my sweatshirt! (I kind of felt like a soccer mom...LOL.)
4. You can see Sunday's little snow on the ground. Yup, it snowed on March 27th here in Richmond!

That's about it. We spent Sunday going to the crappiest estate sale ever and finding nothing, heading to the antique store and finding a post card, and going to Target and getting more Nerf darts. (We've been having Nerf wars with our thrifted Nerf guns! Soooo fun!)

I hope your week is going well so far. :)

Found: Vintage Market Bag!

Vintage Market Bag, Goodwill Outlet ($2.50)
I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I looked in the purse bin at Goodwill Outlet on Saturday and spotted just what I was looking for!! Sometimes, thrifting seems like magic. To be able to find (and afford) things I normally wouldn't be able to makes thrifting so worth it to me.

Now, if I could just thrift a Nintendo 3DS (soooo awesome!) and this new camera I saw at Wal*Mart that I just LOVE...

My Thrifting Outfit: Some Bunny Loves You

Sunglasses, Tote, Jacket: F21; Jeans, Burlington; Flats, T Shirt; Necklaces: DIY andThrifted
You all probably know by now that I love, love, love sunglasses. I love inexpensive ones even more, so when I found these huge ones at Forever 21, I had to get them! At just $5.80, I'd say they're worth it. :)

I love my newly thrifted shirt with a big 'T' on it! I'm sure it stands for some kind of sports team or something, but I'm pretending it stands for my last name. :)

Mule Necklace, DIY; White Necklace, Thrifted

The tote is my little 'Easter is coming' tote that is just so cute. (Yes, it does say 'Some bunny loves you.' No, I couldn't think of another post title...) Oh, and it was just $3.80!
OMG, and guess what I found yesterday while out thrifting?? Exactly what I was looking for!! More tomorrow...

Amanda

PS: Yes, my hair finally kind of goes into a ponytail!

What I'm Wanting: Vintage Market Bag

Vintage Basket Weave Purse, Hillplace etsy shop
I've seen bags like this before at the thrifts, but I didn't get them. Now, with spring on its way, I think it would be the perfect bag for the warmer months! So, I'm on the lookout while I thrift today. :)

Wish me luck, and happy weekend!!!

Blythe's Thrifted Outfit: Treasure Trolls

Vintage Barbie Troll Shirt; Doll Cut-offs; Both: Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
I was excited to snatch up this 80s Treasure Trolls Barbie shirt at Goodwill Outlet a couple weeks ago! I'm always on the lookout for doll shirts, since they're harder to find than dresses and closer to something I'd wear. This outfit is definitely more my style than what I usually find for Blythe!

I'm so glad it's Friday. :) Almost thrift time!

Roy G. Biv

Beaded Choker Necklace, Good Samaritan ($3)
I love colorful things. Some days, I just want to pile on all the colors of the rainbow, whether they match or not. (Kind of especially if they don't.) So for days such as those, this necklace is perfection.

It not only incorporates lots of color, but it is also blessedly metal-free! It's always so nice when I can find a necklace I can wear as-is. :)

Have a great Thursday!

Buckles and Leather

Eddie Bauer Briefcase Bag, Goodwill Outlet ($2.50)
I was so excited to grab this bag from the Goodwill Outlet bin on Saturday! I am loving the double-buckle, top-handle look lately, and this messenger bag fits the bill. The leather is also pretty nice, which is a nice plus. :)

This week is going by pretty fast- it's already Wednesday! Let's hope it keeps on chugging right toward Friday!!

My Thrifting Outfit: Pink, Blue, and Shrek Green

One of Saturday's favorite finds was something really, really silly: a Burger King Shrek watch! It's cute, plastic, and fun- I loved looking down at it all day Sunday! (Sorry- I'm a really big plastic watch nerd since I can't wear metal ones. :))

Button-Up, Target Clearance ($9); Striped Sweater, Gift from In-Laws; Jeans, Burlington ($15); KSwiss Shoes, Rugged Warehouse ($19); Scorpion Bolo, Heritage Antiques ($6); Bag, G.O. ($2.50); Shrek Watch, G.O. (<$1)
This outfit was not quite warm enough for Sunday's weather, since we were outside most of the day. We celebrated the hubby's birthday at the remote control airplane flying field, where we also had a cookout. I was shivering a little bit in the cold wind!

Here's a close-up of Mr. Shrek:

Do you rock silly accessories, or is it just me and the third graders?

PS: Happy 26th birthday, Josh!!!!

Spring has Sprung...and a Duck!

Our tree outside our apartment has bloomed :) So pretty!
I just had to share this photo I took of my favorite tree outside our apartment. The blooms appeared so suddenly! (I think really that spring is just such a new concept to me, being from Florida and not experiencing many seasons...)

Anyway, here's one of the more random things I picked up at Goodwill Outlet on Saturday: a stuffed duck! I'd love to also find a stuffed Bass fish, since Bass is my maiden name. :)

Stuffed Duck, Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
Couldn't you just picture this in an old country lodge? Or, okay, in a 'country-chic' home of the 1980s... But I like it nonetheless! I just can't resist animal things. :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

My Thrifting Outfit: Red, red, red

Sunglasses, eBay; Shirt, F21; Jeans, Burlington; Sweater, Purse, Shoes: Goodwill; Necklace, Thrift Store in Florida
I couldn't resist just piling on red thing after red thing for yesterday's thrifting outfit. I figured that, paired with basics like caramel leather and jeans, you can't have too much red!

Thrifting was pretty fun yesterday, since the hubby was off work again. We've been searching for a Sega Genesis, but haven't scored one yet. What we did find? Some awesome art prints, Pokey (from Gumby), a sword tie tack, and a West Germany little Easter basket, among other great treasures!

I hope you're having a great, relaxing weekend. :) I know I'm enjoying mine!

Three Dimensional

1950s Textured Wall Art, Estate Sale ($2.50)
I loved the estate sale we went to last Sunday. I don't know how they are elsewhere, but here in Richmond, estate sales have the best stuff waiting in the basement! We found the War of the Worlds book for less than a buck, a very old wooden baseball bat for $2.50 and this wall art for the same.

In addition to this pretty scene, (which, in case you missed the post title, pops out from the frame) there was a Florida Panther one! I loved it, but I couldn't convince the hubby that we should take both home. Alas, we just have this pretty vintage mountain-scape.

I am so glad it's Saturday! Thrift days are my absolute favorites (can you tell?!), so I'm super excited. :) Plus, tomorrow we're celebrating the hubby's birthday with his family, so that should be cool too. Have a good one!

Blythe's Thrifted Outfit: So Seventies

Vintage Doll Top and Bell Bottoms, Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
With all the 70-esque fashion floating around, I couldn't resist these super bell-bottom pants for Blythe! They are way more psychedelic and literally disco than you might want to wear, but for a doll- why not?

This outfit would be perfect for today's weather, too- it is supposed to be over 80 degrees! We'll be back to cooler weather over the weekend, but today it's summer outside. :)

I hope you have a great Friday!!!

War of the Worlds

Vintage War of the Worlds, Estate Sale; ($0.25)
I must admit that I never saw the movie War of the Worlds... and that this old book appealed to me mostly because of the awesome cover! While I am an avid reader (I go through about 3 books a week), I haven't read this yet either, but I plan to.

Usually with older books, I am drawn to the ones that look the coolest- and what's cooler than this crazy scene?

Do you all do the same, or do you pick out books like a normal person (ie: by their content!)?

Homer's Head

Homer Cookie Jar, Goodwill Outlet ($2)
Here's my silliest find of them week- a Homer head cookie jar! We're currently using it as a banana holder, but I'm envisioning it as the coolest flower vase ever.

Ah, the random goodies that can be found at good old Goodwill Outlet. :)

My Thrifting Outfit: Mrs. Tough Guy

Man, this time change threw me for a loop. I didn't wake up until noon this past Sunday, since I forgot about the time change. It's kind of sad when you accidentally sleep through half of your only full day off!

But the hubby and I made the most of the day, checking out a pretty cool estate sale and having lunch at a new Mexican place. (Ahhh, chili rellenos!)

Shirt, F21; Jeans, Goodwill; Cardigan, Goodwill; Bag, TJMaxx Clearance; Shoes, Plato's Closet; Giraffe Pins, Midlothian Antiques; Vintage Remington Aviator Sunglasses, Love of Jesus
These sunglasses were a favorite find from the day before at Love of Jesus. They are Remington brand, which according to the hubby, means they are for wearing while shooting guns! I feel like a tough guy in them, for sure. (Which explains why I couldn't seem to smile- I was trying to look tough!)

I hope you all are having a great week!

$2.50 Uggs

Ugg Boots, Goodwill Outlet ($2.50)
I've always been a bit wary of Ugg boots. I mean, I know they're not the cutest things in the world. But in my world, usually comfort wins in the battle of comfy or stylish...

I would never spend the normal amount on Ugg boots, but when I found them in the Goodwill Outlet bin, in my size, I had to snatch them up! I think they'll be perfect for lazy days with a bite of chill in the air.

Have a great Monday!

My Thrifting Outfit: Knits and Such

Shirt, Target Clearance; Knit Vest, Goodwill; Vintage Sweater, Goodwill; Jeans, Burlington; Shoes, F21; Bag, TJMaxx Clearance; Bangles, Thrifted/Vintage/F21; Shell Necklace, Diversity Thrift
I recently remembered this comfy knit vest was in the back of my closet, and just in time! It was perfect outside for this outfit yesterday, with blue skies and 60-something degree weather.

And it was so fun thrifting with the hubby again! He even found a couple things for himself, like a Nintendo and games, and a Homer Simpson Cookie Jar. (We're going to use it as a flower vase...awesome!)

I had good luck too. :) We're talking Ugg boots in my size, vintage goodies, and the most awesome pair of vintage aviator sunglasses ever...

An Old Stuffed Panda and a Mini Tea Cup

Vintage Panda; Vintage Japan Tea Cup and Saucer; Both: Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
Although I know my sis-in-law does read this blog sometimes, I can't resist posting about the two little things I thrifted for her last Saturday. Ashley loves pandas and Japanese finds, so these both were begging to be snatched up for her. :)

The little stuffed panda is pretty old- I'd say at least from the 30s or 40s. (Yes, I am aware the eyes are creepy!) And although there was only one set, this little play tea cup and saucer were so cute I couldn't pass them up!

It's always really fun to thrift items for other people. I swear that would be my dream job- like a personal shopper, but a personal thrifter and gifter.

Well, I'm off to work, but hopefully the hubby and I will find some great things this afternoon!!

Blythe's Thrifted Outfit

Vintage Barbie Dress, Antique Shop in Florida ($2); New Pink Computer Chair, Goodwill ($8)
Here was the perfect opportunity to show off this neat old Barbie dress on Blythe and my newly thrifted pink computer chair. (It was a particularly dark and rainy day yesterday, and this was pretty much my only photo option, in other words!)

First, the dress was a cool find from an antique shop near my parent's house when we were down there for Thanksgiving. It's a tad big on Blythe, but I like the print on it for spring!

The chair was an awesome and timely find, since I loveeeee my vintage ice cream chair but can't sit on it comfortably for more than a couple minutes! Now my pretty Valentine's day chair is doing what it does best- looking good- and my new computer chair is cute and pink and comfy. Win-win.

Happy Friday! I have to work tomorrow morning, but then I'll be off to the thrift shops with the hubby since he has the day off for once! I'm excited to go with him again. :)

A Thing for Seed Beads

Vintage Beaded Coin Purse, Goodwill Outlet ($0.25)
You all know how much I love pretty vintage things, and what better than a vintage item made with tiny seed beads? I swear, one of these days all my tiny-beaded things will fall apart, and I'll never be able to get the little things off the floor. :)

But isn't this vintage coin purse pretty? I love finding things like this at Goodwill Outlet, because there's no markup for it being cool and old, like there would be at certain other thrift shops. And of course, you just can't beat the price!

Have a good one! :)

My Thrifting Outfit: Touches of Yellow

I'm a big fan of an easy outfit. For me, that usually means a slightly dressier version of jeans and a tee, like this:

Zebra Shirt, Goodwill; Jeans, Burlington; Cardigan, Gift; Bangles: Antique Shops and F21; Hair Bow, F21; Shoes, Plato's Closet; Bag, TJMaxx Clearance
Sunday was spent visiting the hubby and I's favorite big antique mall and checking out a new Mexican restaurant. Both were great! I scored an awesome bow pin, and the hubby got a crazy looking estate pipe at the antique mall. And the Mexican place was cheap and tasty. :)

It shaped up to be a rainy, but otherwise pretty perfect, day.

A Checkered Past

Checkered Sunglasses, Goodwill Outlet (<$1)
...And let the red and white madness continue!!! Lol. Another find in Saturday's outfit colors was this checkered pair of sunnies, made in Taiwan. When I saw them in the bottom of the G.O. bin, I couldn't believe the vintage coolness of them!

They totally remind me of my hubby's ska music-obsessed days. (And I couldn't resist the post title...I mean, who knows? When you buy things at Goodwill Outlet, they very well might've had a checkered past. Hence the super-sanitizing that goes on after purchasing things!)

I hope you are having a great week so far. :)

The Beautiful Handmade Quilt of my Dreams

Vintage Handmade Quilt, Heritage Antiques ($25)
It's been awhile, but I've talked before about my obsession with vintage handmade quilts. When I found this one for a mere twenty-five bucks at my local antique store, I couldn't believe it!! I love the totally graphic red and white design, and it's big enough to use on our queen size bed!

It was extra-weird that I found this on Saturday, when I was wearing red and white. I must have looked quite the picture wearing my outfit and hugging my matching quilt to myself for dear life. I kept checking the price tag to make certain it didn't really say $125...

I hope you had a great weekend!

My Thrifting Outfit: Vintage Red

I totally scored the other night at Goodwill and the clearance racks of Target and Burlington! This outfit is the product of finding some great wardrobe pieces for even better prices:

White Button-up, Target Clearance; Vintage Floral Shirt, Goodwill; Vintage Cardigan, Goodwill; Jeans, Burlington; Green Tassel Flats, Goodwill; Bag, TJMaxx Clearance
Four of these things I've been searching for forever...the perfect white button-up, great-fitting dark blue skinny jeans, a black Mulberry-esque bag, and tasseled flats!

I grabbed the vintage floral shirt on a whim, but I really ended up liking it! It goes so well with my red cardigan :) (Which I know isn't a huge step away from my favorite blue one, but I love vintage grandpa cardigans!!!)

I hope you all are having a great weekend!

Always,
Amanda

Fishin' for Presents

Fly Fishing Glass Cup, Goodwill Outlet
I like how Sarah of Five Camels ordered business cards to the effect of "thrifted and thoroughly washed by Sarah."

I personally find most of my gifts for people at thrift shops, too, so I see how such a card would be helpful for gift recipients! The above glass cup is for my father-in-law (who I don't think reads this, so it should be okay!), because he's a fan of fly fishing.

Some people are harder than others to shop for, so when I find something for them while thrifting, I grab it! Does anyone else shop for gifts at the thrifts?

Always,
Amanda
