Two Most Searched-For Things: From Saturday

The two most coveted things I found on Saturday:

  1. A super-nice, brand-new leather bag. (This is Kenneth Cole. It is perfect, soft, and brand-spankin' new. From Goodwill Outlet!!!)

2. A really cool vintage leather jacket/cardigan. (Although this isn't the perfect leather jacket I've been hunting down, it is close. If the suede was butter-soft leather and it was a dark brown, it'd be perfect. But for now, I love it! Also from Goodwill Outlet, so about a dollar.)

Have a good night!

Always,
Amanda

A Thrift-tacular Christmas!

If you've been reading this blog for little bit (or if you know me!) you know I'm not afraid to be a little silly :) Thus, the sometimes wacky and tacky titles!

But one of the things I like to be fairly traditional is Christmas decor.

Like, classic with a little bit of a twist.

Here's what we have up in our apartment for Christmas:

Little Glass Christmas Tree, Goodwill ($2); Vintage Christmas Bulbs, Good Samaritan ($1)

Christmas Tree With Lights Attached, Big Lots ($30); Various Ornaments, Friends and Family; Gift Bags, Dollar Tree ($1 each); Extra Set of Lights on Tree, Good Samaritan ($1)

While we couldn't find a tree small enough at thrift stores, we did find the little glass tree and the vintage bulbs at thrifts! I think I've seen the bulb-in-a-glass look before, and I really love how it looks on our mantle. I think our little Big Lots tree works just fine-especially with extra-pretty lights from Good Samaritan!

I've seen so many cute Christmas things at the thrifts I go to, but I feel like any more decoration would be overkill in our small apartment. It still seems nice and Christmas-y in here, though :)

Hope you all have a really great Wednesday!

Always,
Amanda

Two Most 90s Things: From Saturday

All you 80s babies that grew up in the 90s will understand the awesomeness of these two items. (Oh, and all you parents/grandparents of those babies will probably get it, too!)

Everyone, meet my new Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots!!!! (<$1 at Goodwill Outlet)

And my very awesome 1995 Nickelodeon wallet! ($0.50 at Goodwill Outlet) The 9-year-old me is doing a little happy dance!

Just Jammin' to My 8-Tracks!

Let me start this post by saying: I never, ever wanted an 8-track player. I've had my record player for about 5 years, and I love it! But I hadn't ever really seen an 8-track player, much less had the desire for one.

That is, until I saw my little 8-track player in the Thrifty Quaker a couple weeks ago, for 75% off of $5!

I didn't even know if it'd work, but for that price, I snatched it up! After heading to the FanTastic Thrift for some 45-cent 8-track tapes, I was good to go.

The hubby hooked it up to our sound system, and I am ready for some jammin' with my John Denver and Carpenters tapes.

So how does it feel to be an 8-track woman? Pretty good. Pretty good.

Amanda

Two Most Random Things: From Saturday

I am going to start having little posts like this throughout the week, to stir things up a little! Here are the two most random things I got on Saturday:

Both from Family Thrift!

Dollar Tree DIY

This is the original black hoodie I got at the Dollar Tree:

Then I glued on some old lace down the sides and around the pockets to keep it steady while I sewed, and then sewed it on:

Finally, I was finished! For just $1, I had a unique (sort-of crazy-looking-lady) hoodie!

Have a great Monday everyone! And thank you so much for reading and for your super-friendly comments :)

Always,
Amanda

My Favorite Finds!

As promised, here are some of my favorite things from this weekend (more will not doubt show up soon!):

Vintage Samsonite Suitcase in a pretty, sparkly blue! (Good Samaritan)

Vintage Royal Traveller Train Case in Sparkly Blue (Hermitage Antiques)

Vintage Gloves (Midlothian Antiques)

Vintage Teen Magazine (Hermitage Antiques)

Box of Vintage Goody Hair Clips (Midlothian Antiques)

As you can see, most of my very favorite things this weekend came from the two antique stores I went to. I have found that, if you dig around enough, you can find things for a couple dollars there! Like, the vintage gloves above were only $3! I was a little mad, though, 'cause they had leather ones that were way too tiny for my hands.

I was the most excited about the suitcase and matching train case :) I found the suitcase on Saturday at Good Samaritan and the train case today at the antique store. The funny thing is that I found the exact suitcase I posted yesterday at Good Samaritan too- I just decided that I liked the blue one better!

Anyway, I'm going to go use my Neti Pot- I've been sneezing allllll day and it's really hard to concentrate on anything!

Always,
Amanda

PS: I'm about to do an esty update too, if I can manage it- so keep a look out for cool "new" items!
