I know I've said it a billion times, but you
never know what you'll find in the Goodwill Outlet bins! Some of the things I've seen in there...I would tell you about them, but this is a family blog :)
This past Saturday, I found a little group of Wade animals sitting together on top of a box of adult diapers (unopened, thankfully!).

Wade Animals, Goodwill Outlet (<$1) |
I'd seen these little guys in antique shops, but I didn't know much about them other than they were worth getting for less than a buck. After a little bit of Googling, I found out that they were made primarily from the 1950s to the 80s and some are quite collectible.
Of course these little guys have been through the war of the Goodwill Outlet bins and wouldn't be worth much anyway, but they're pretty cute!
I hope everyone has a great Monday :)
Always,
Amanda
My mom collects those. I think she said they used to come in Lipton Tea tins...back when they sold tea in tins;) I think we have over a 100 of them in my parents attic.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool! Yeah, I've seen them in antique shops for a couple dollars each, so for less than a buck for them, I like them :)
ReplyDeleteHi;
ReplyDeleteLittle Wade animal figurines used to be found in "Red Rose Tea" packages, when I was a little girl growing up in the '60's - '70's in rural Ontario, Canada.
I've been to your lovely state. I enjoyed it very much. (Florence & Lexington - was just passing through and also I visited the Kentucky Horse Park, where Man O' War is buried)
Regards,
Those are soo cute, they would make great necklaces :)
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother use to collect these when I was little... we always got to take one whenever we went over there. Now every time I see them that is what I think of :)

O, I am in love with those Wade animals! I have a few I've thrifted over the years, but never found a zoo of them like you!
ReplyDeleteI am also in KY!
